An Oklahoma City teen is in hot water after allegedly abusing a 4-month-old pit bull puppy over the weekend.
An officer patrolling in the 500 block of NW 113th St. witnessed 18-year-old Malcolm Young standing in the front yard of a home, pounding a hard ball into the side of the puppy over and over again.
The officer reported hearing the dog crying out in pain, but said Young continued to hit the dog. The officer then stated that he called out for Young to stop what he was doing, but before he could get close enough to check the dog for injuries, Young put him inside.
The officer approached the home and said Young looked very angry, saying "I was training my dog to make it mean." When the officer said what Young was doing could be considered animal cruelty, young simply replied "Didn't you see me miss hitting him a couple times?"
The officer then placed Young under arrest and contacted animal control. Young was taken to the Oklahoma County Jail on one felony count of cruelty to animals, where he has since bonded out. That bond was set at $2,000.
