OKC Man Arrested For Beating Wife In Front Of Children

Oklahoma City police arrested a man who is accused of strangling and beating his wife in front of their children.

The victim told police that on Monday, she returned home from work with her two 2-year-old daughters, and got into an argument with her husband, 36-year-old Deonicio Ybarra Pena III.

According to police, Pena became angry and began strangling the victim. He also punched her and pushed her head into the wood floor repeatedly.

The victim said when Pena walked away, she grabbed one daughter and placed her on the porch. When she picked up the other child and started walking out the door, Pena reportedly grabbed her by the hair again and began dragging her backwards.

The victim told police she was able to get away. As she was running towards her car, Pena reportedly followed her with a baseball bat.

Police said the victim was able to drive to the 7-Eleven at 3051 S.W.67th . That’s where she called police. Officers said the victim’s face was bruised and swollen. She also had multiple bruises on her neck.

Pena was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on charges of domestic violence in the presence of a child, domestic violence by strangulation, and assault and battery.
