Overnight thunderstorms are continuing to fire in northwest Oklahoma. They are trying to make it into central Oklahoma Friday morning.

We will keep a 30 percent chance for showers and storms for the metro for the morning.

A cool front is in the state and is driving the morning storms. It will lift back into northern Oklahoma through the day allowing near 100 degree temperatures in many areas west of I-35.

The metro high should get to about 97 degrees with partly cloudy skies and southerly winds about 10mph. Afternoon storm chances will be best in the northern border of the state along the stalled cool front.

We will keep a 20 percent chance for scattered showers in central Oklahoma. Friday night, it will be hot and humid with a slight chance for rain overnight lows will be in the 70s.

Your weekend forecast includes hot and humid conditions with 90s and sunshine. We will have a slight chance for rain both Saturday and Sunday, but if you are heading down to Rush Springs for the Watermelon festival, don’t cancel your plans.

We stay mostly hot and dry. Get out and enjoy!
