Choctaw Man Wanted For Spying On Woman As She Showered

Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a Choctaw man who is accused of spying on a woman as she showered.

Authorities are looking for 35-year-old Howard Edward Payton. According to an affidavit, on July 21, a woman was using a community shower at the Twin Fountains RV Park, located at 2727 N.E. 63rd Street, when she noticed that her shower curtain had been opened.

The victim said she looked down and saw a man, later identified as Payton, lying on the floor looking up at her. The victim screamed and Payton ran away, according to police.

A surveillance camera captured Payton entering the laundry room next door to the women’s bathroom. The video also shows Payton climb on top of a washing machine in an attempt to look over the wall into the women’s shower area.

The victim identified the man in the video as the suspect. Officers were able to identify the man as Payton. He is now wanted on "Peeping Tom" charges. 

Payton has previous convictions in Oklahoma for receiving and concealing stolen property, domestic assault and battery after a felony conviction, violation of VPO, entering a building with unlawful intent, and a first-degree rape charge which was later amended to illegal recording.
