The United States Geological Survey reported a 4.0 magnitude earthquake near Medford, Thursday evening.
The quake was reported at 8:31 p.m., at a depth of over three miles. The epicenter was located 16 miles south, southeast of Medford and 19 miles northeast of Enid.
There are no reports of major injury or damage at this time.
According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
