A good-sized earthquake that rumbled just across the border in Kansas has a lot of Oklahomans talking.

A 4.4 magnitude quake struck six miles east, southeast of the town of Harper, Kansas, or 123 miles north of the Oklahoma City metro, just after 1 p.m. at a depth of three miles.

So far, viewers as south as Norman reported felling the jolt.

A 3.4 magnitude aftershock shook up the same area about a half an hour later.

Damage and injuries were not immediately reported, but News 9 is working to contact the CBS affiliate in Wichita, Kansas to find out what they are hearing and seeing.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely with quakes at magnitude 4.0 and higher.
