Wednesday, former OU star Adrian Peterson will be in court to face child abuse charges. Those charges are from back in May, and Peterson is pleading not guilty and has been denying the accusations from day one.
He consistently denied those child abuse allegations and said he never intended to hurt his 4-year-old son when he punished him with a wooden switch. That incident left the boy with lacerations on his thigh, cuts on his hands and marks on his lower back and rear.
Peterson told investigators he thought his actions were normal spanking and said him being spanked as a child helped him in life.
The Minnesota Vikings placed Peterson on the commissioner's exempt list and he can't participate in team activities.
Peterson turned himself in last month after a Texas grand jury indicted him for reckless or negligent injury to a child.
He could face up to two years in prison if he is convicted.
