A criminal charge has been filed against Oklahoma native Blake Griffin.
The Clippers superstar allegedly slapped another man. This is the first time we've heard Blake Griffin's name mentioned in anything other than what he does on the court or when he's back in Oklahoma.
TMZ obtained a picture from the night in question. According to court records, on October 19, Griffin and fellow Los Angeles Clippers teammates Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan were leaving a Las Vegas night club. A man said he tried to take a picture with a cell phone. That's when the Clark County D. A. said Griffin "willfully and unlawfully used force or violence.”
Witnesses said Griffin got upset by camera flashes in his face, squeezed the man's hand and shoulder, and slapped him.
The DA charged Griffin with one count of misdemeanor battery.
Clippers Head Coach Doc Rivers isn't saying much other than he believes Griffin is a great kid.
Griffin is due in court on December 8. If convicted, he could get up to six months in jail.
