Oklahoma City Police got a 911 call to the Castle Tower apartments in the 5500 block of NW 23rd St. around 10 a.m. on Thursday and discovered a woman bleeding in the parking lot.
Friday morning, police identified the victim as 24-year-old Jasmine Diggs. She remains in very critical condition, and police say they fear she may die from her injuries.
Many people living at the Castle Tower apartments woke up to find police cars and investigators everywhere, trying to determine what led one woman to attack another with a knife.
Dejohn Holiday was pulling up to the complex in his car when he came upon the crime scene.
“There was a girl out there laying (sic) on the ground,” said Holiday. “So I didn't really know what was going on, because I had just pulled up.”
“Yeah, it's really scary,” said Aishae Scott, who also lives at the complex. “Woke up by the noises the sirens and everything … and all I know is I'm looking out the window and I am seeing a girl lying in between the cars.”
Neither Scott nor Holiday knew the woman who was stabbed or the woman accused of attacking her.
Police have arrested 23-year-old Diamond Newton in connection with the stabbing. She has been in jail before on drug related charges.
Police spent the brisk morning combing the parking lot for evidence and questioning potential witnesses at the scene about what happened. But it appears the suspect and the victim are the only two involved.
Police say this vicious stabbing all stems from some fight that was happening between the two women. Right now they don't know the reason behind that fight, only that it led to bloodshed.
