In the hustle and bustle of this shopping season, one family in Choctaw says they got the best Christmas surprise by a total stranger inside Walmart.
T'was the night before Christmas, and all throughout Walmart, many people were stirring, and out trying to find that one last item. Like Jonathan Gilbert's family, hoping to get a toy even though they didn't have much money to pay for it.
The Gilberts needed a Christmas miracle, and in the nick of time, one happened.
"This gentleman walked up, started talking to her asked her how she was doing, stuck his hand out handed her $100 and said Merry Christmas ma'am and walked away," Gilbert said.
A mysterious older man in a leather jacket approached Gilbert's fiancé with cash money.
"I can't believe it happened, because you don't hear about total strangers just walking up and giving $100 to people."
The family was speechless and tried to find the man inside the busy store but lost him.
They said his spontaneous and generous gift couldn't have come at a better time since they're behind on their car payment.
"We were wondering how we were going to catch it back up, and since that gentleman was so nice and had the Christmas spirit, now we're going to be able to catch up on our car payment," he said.
A blessing in disguise, especially since Gilbert and his fiancé have a 2-year-old daughter and are expecting another child in two months.
"Me and my fiancé think that God somehow told him just to give her $100, we don't know why he chose her, but we're thankful that he did."
