Mustang Woman Becomes Millionaire With Winning Powerball Ticket

A Mustang woman became Oklahoma's newest millionaire with a Christmas Eve Powerball ticket.

Kathi Mersman won $2,000,000 on Dec. 24 with a ticket she purchased at the Cigarette Warehouse in Mustang. Powerball officials said she matched five of five white balls and added the Powerplay option for an additional $1 per play, which doubled her winnings from $1,000,000 to $2,000,000. 

After taxes, officials said she walked away with approximately $1,420,000.

Mersman said she plans to use her winnings to pay off her house and plan a vacation.
