Pilfered booze and social media led to the arrest of an Oklahoma City man wanted on a felony warrant out of Cleveland County.
Jason Heuangpaseuth, 31, was arrested on Jan. 3 after police responded to a shoplifting call at Sam's Wholesale Liquor, near NW 23rd St. and N. Portland Ave. But his alleged crime actually took place the day before.
According to police, Heuangpaseuth came into the store on Jan. 2 and stole a bottle of scotch whiskey. He could have gotten away with it, but a store employee recognized him and messaged Heuangpaseuth on Facebook, telling him that they knew what he did and they were going to call police.
Heuangpaseuth back to the store at 8:50 p.m. on Jan. 3 and attempted to pay for the stolen scotch. There he was held by store security until police arrived.
When officers ran Heuangpaseuth's name through the system they confirmed that he had a felony warrant for his arrest out of Cleveland County. Authorities have not said for what the warrant was issued.
