Edmond police have identified two people who were arrested in connection to a shooting and pursuit early Wednesday morning.

According to police, at about 1:30 a.m., officers received information that shots were fired in the area of 15th and Broadway. Police said they also received a call that someone was shot and was en route to OU Medical-Edmond campus from 2nd and Sooner Road. Officers then responded to that area.

The person on the phone told police that someone in their car had been shot, and the suspect was following them. Officers said they located the suspect vehicle, driven by 21-year-old Deaunte McBrayer, near 2nd Street and Waterwood. The suspect vehicle failed to yield, and a pursuit began between police officers and the suspect.

According to police, McBrayer drove from 2nd street and Rankin, making his way toward Broadway and headed south on Broadway. Officer used the TVI maneuver to stop McBrayer one time. McBrayer's car spun, but he was able to recover control and keep driving south on Broadway.

Another officer in the pursuit attempted a second TVI maneuver, which spun his vehicle. One of the officers involved in the chase then hit McBrayer's vehicle while attempting to block it. The pursuit ended in the area of 122nd and Broadway.

According to police, officers responded to the hospital and spoke with the victims. The victims said McBrayer exchanged gunfire with one of the occupants of their vehicle after a fight that originated at Tramps Bar in Oklahoma City.

Police said the two had a prior relationship and had argued about it earlier in the night at the bar. The three left the bar and were returning to Edmond when the suspect, McBrayer, followed them and began shooting at them at 15th and Broadway.

At some point after the initial gunfire, Derrius Johns, who was a passenger in the victim's car, pulled out a .380 pistol from his bag and returned fire toward the suspect's vehicle, according to police.

McBrayer was arrested on multiple complaints, including felony eluding, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and using a vehicle to facilitate firearm.

Johns was arrested on complaints of assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
