Shooting Suspect Arrested Following High Speed Chase In Edmond

Edmond police say two people were shot then followed to the hospital by the gunman early Wednesday morning.

A suspected gunman is in custody after a shooting and high speed chase in Edmond, early Wednesday morning.

According to Edmond police, 911 calls came in around 1:30 a.m. from people near Broadway and 15th St., reporting shots fired. When police were en route to the scene another call came from the apparent shooting victims who reported that they were racing to OU Medical Center in Edmond and being followed by the gunman.

Police said the gunman led officers on a high speed chase on Broadway Extension from 2nd St.. They caught up to the suspect near N.W. 122nd St. Officers used a tactical maneuver so the suspect would spin out. 

According to police, one victim was shot in the leg the other victim is being treated for a graze wound.

Police were able to take the suspect into custody. It is not clear if the suspect knew the victims nor a possible motive.
