4.0 Magnitude Earthquake Recorded Near Cherokee

A 4.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded near Cherokee, Oklahoma, Friday morning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, this earthquake was recorded at 8:24 a.m. Its epicenter was located four miles north, northwest of Cherokee, and 39 miles northwest of Enid.

It was about four miles deep.

No injuries or damage were immediately reported.
