Adrian Peterson is set to be reinstated following U.S. District Judge David Doty's decision which lifted the running back's suspension at the NFLPA's request.

For now, Peterson returns to the Vikings where he is under contract until 2017.

The Vikings star was suspended without pay by the NFL with six games remaining in the 2014 season after Peterson reached a plea deal on misdemeanor reckless assault for hitting his 4-year-old son with a switch.

Peterson had previously been suspended, but with pay, when the Vikings placed him on the Commissioner's Exempt List after Week 1 of the 2014 regular season.
