Drunk Driver Leads Officers On Chase, Collides With Vehicle In OKC

Authorities say a driver under the influence tried to elude officers and caused a collision late Saturday night.

The accident happened a little after 11:00 p.m., at Western and Reno Ave. in Oklahoma City.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 40-year-old Jose S. Hernandez, of Oklahoma City, was traveling northbound on Western attempting to elude officers when he ran a red light, and slammed into a car driven by 24-year-old Carolena Salazar.

Officers said Hernandez was driving under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to a local hospital in serious condition following the accident.

Salazar was also transported to a local hospital. She has been treated and released.
