Another round of winter storm brought snow, sleet and high winds to Oklahoma. Many flights are canceled or delayed at the Will Rogers World Airport Monday morning.

According to the Will Rogers Airport, 23 departures, including Southwest 1877 to Baltimore, Delta 3880 to Detroit,United 3977 to Houston, and more,  have been canceled Monday morning, and delays are expected on flights that are not canceled.

Several flights originally scheduled to arrive in Oklahoma City Monday morning have also been canceled, including Southwest 183 from Houston, American 5762 from Dallas Ft. Worth, Southwest 1127 from Chicago, and Southwest 3074 from Dallas (Love). Delta 1259 from Atlanta, originally set to arrive at 10:39 p.m. in OKC, has been delayed.

Airport officials said crews are working hard to keep the airport from closing completely.

Officials said airport maintenance crews have been working through the night clearing runways and taxiways to keep the airport open.  Additional airport and parking staff are working to clear sidewalks and roads in front of the terminal, as well as parking lanes.

Operations are expected to improve later Monday morning and early afternoon as the storm system moves out.  It will take most of the day for flights to try and get back on schedule.  Even with improving conditions in OKC, travelers should be aware that as the storm moves east, other cities such as Chicago, may be impacted and could impact flights at Will Rogers Airport.

Currently, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines and United Airlines are waiving change fees to allow customers the opportunity to change their flights if they are scheduled to fly on Monday.

The airport urges anyone traveling to Will Rogers Airport to check their flight status prior to coming to the airport. Check flight status here or check the airline’s website or social media sites.
