An officer-involved shooting was reported Monday night in northwest Oklahoma City, police said.
Police were called to an area near N.W. 42nd Street and Portland in reference to a burglary. A teenager called 911 just after 8 p.m. Monday and said several men tried to break in.When officers arrived, they found multiple suspects. One suspect reportedly fired his weapon at an officer, and also tried to take the officer's rifle, according to police.
The officer shot at the suspect, who was armed, and the suspect ran away. That suspect was found dead in an apartment east of the scene, police said.
Tuesday morning, police confirmed with News 9's Rachel Calderon that a weapon the suspect used to fire at the officer has been recovered.
The deceased suspect has not been identified. Police are still looking for additional suspects. Stay with us for updates.
