The cost for a pack of smokes could soon go up under a plan to reduce the number of smokers in the state while increasing teacher pay.
But some smokers aren't too happy about it.
The state Department of Health said the tax increase would generate $182 million per year in new revenue while cutting smoking by 10 percent.
