A Washington State teenager is recovering from severe injuries after taking part in the "duct tape challenge." Now, he's doing what he can to try and stop others from taking part in it.
The 14-year-old had to undergo emergency surgery because of something many of us have sitting in a drawer. Skylar Fish now spends most of his days in a hospital bed. Earlier this month, he and his friends decided to take part in the "duct tape challenge." It involves wrapping a person's body in tape and seeing how long it takes them to escape.
As Skylar tried to free himself, he fell forward and hit his head on the corner of a window frame before slamming into a concrete floor. The fall shattered one of his eye sockets and a cheek bone, and also caused him to have a brain aneurysm.
Doctors performed emergency surgery and placed 48 staples in his head. He's now warning others not to make the same mistake he did.
Doctors are still not sure if Skylar will ever regain sight in his injured eye.
