No students were seriously injured after a school bus overturned near Yale, Oklahoma, Tuesday morning.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a Yale Public Schools' bus overturned at about 7:30 a.m., two miles south of Highway 51, on a county road just southeast of Yale. Nine students were on board. Several students suffered scrapes, bumps and bruises, but no one was seriously injured.
Troopers said the bus driver over-corrected, causing the bus to go down an embankment and hit the tree. The bus then rolled on the driver's side.
Officials with the Yale Elementary School told News 9 that elementary school students and high school students were on board the bus. An ambulance is on the scene as a precaution.
All parents have been notified and they are also on the scene. Some of the students are being taken to the school.
