Bill Clinton Campaigns For Hillary At 'Get Out The Vote' Event In OKC

Inclusion was the main theme of former President Bill Clinton's speech Sunday night during a rally in Oklahoma City.

Hundreds gathered at Northeast Academy, 3100 North Kelley Ave., as Clinton stumped for his wife and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. 

"You know, I love Oklahoma," he said. "My friend ... makes fun of me because I always say I love Oklahoma more than any other place I never carried. But I did win the Democratic primary here and so did Hillary when she ran, and I want you to win it for her again."

Bill Clinton touched on several issues from Hillary Clinton's campaign including tuition, student loans, racial discrimination and immigration reform.

According to Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton's plan to reform student loan debt includes restricting debt to a low, fixed percentage of your income and to allow the loans the ability to be refinanced.

"We've gotta tear down all the barriers and build up ladders for everyone," he said.

Bill Clinton talked about Hillary Clinton's credentials as a leader and how "everything she ever touched, she made better."

He also talked about his time in office and compared his economic policies to those of former President Ronald Reagan.

"It was the only time we rose together and we can do it again," he said.

The former president told the cheering crowd Hillary Clinton is fighting for inclusive economics, social policies and politics.

"We need to grow together again," Bill Clinton said. "We have to go forward together."

Bill Clinton was in town to encourage voters to support his wife on March 1 at the Oklahoma primary. Hillary Clinton won the Democratic party's Nevada caucus Saturday.
