Yukon's mayor became emotional Tuesday night when describing the city's precarious financial situation.
Mayor John Alberts told City Council members and the public, the City of Yukon has hired a forensic accounting company to go over the city's books.
Alberts said a recent audit showed the city has been spending more money than it's been taking in for the past four years, and city employees were directed not to go through the proper channels when making large purchases.
"I'm disappointed. It's where I live. I'm pretty disappointed. I think this is a great place to live, and we're committed to get to the bottom of it. It's bothersome to me," Alberts said.
