The investigation continues after a woman's body was found in a Chickasha creek Sunday afternoon.
Family members found the body of 43-year-old Tracy Jackson in Line Creek.
“It’s a sad thing that this has happened,” neighbor Barbara Brinkman said.
Her body is already gone, but detectives don't know how long Jackson was in the water. Police got a call from family members Sunday who found her in the creek. Several people had been looking for her for days and pleaded on social media to anyone who'd seen her to let them know.
Jackson lived just outside Chickasha and graduated from Rush Springs High School. Her family is too overcome to talk right now.
The OHP dive team helped search for evidence beneath the water's surface, and investigators are still working to find out why she was there. Some nearby say Jackson’s dog was buried near the creek, and she would visit the place from time to time.
“I feel for her family and have prayed for her family,” a friend said.
OSBI is assisting the Chickasha Police Department with the investigation. The medical examiner will determine a cause of death. In the meantime, police are calling the death “suspicious”.
