Police arrested an 18-year-old suspect in connection to a fatal shooting that happened in southwest Oklahoma City.

According to police, Jose Manuel Perez was arrested Tuesday afternoon on a first-degree murder complaint, in connection to the death of 19-year-old Jose Luis Rubio.

Just before 7 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 3800 block of S. May. When they arrived, they found a shooting victim, later identified as Rubio, inside of a vehicle that had crashed in front of a business.

Rubio was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Perez was arrested in the 4300 block of S. May. He has been booked into the Oklahoma County Jail.
