The new Riversport Rapids Center on the Oklahoma River is kicking off the summer with its first ever Memorial Day Festival.
"Relaxing, freeing, other than when you're upside down,” said Jesse Parker. “Then you've got to work your way back up to the top."
Whitewater rafting, live music, food trucks - there's a lot going on at the Riversport Rapids.
"This is really we think a kick off to the summer,” said OKC Boathouse District Executive Director Mike Knopp. “We're going to be open seven days a week starting this weekend."
Admission is free, but a day pass is needed if you want to get in the water. Parking is $5.
"We think that this is a really awesome opportunity for Oklahoma City to have this in our backyard,” Knopp said.
It is not something you'd expect to see near downtown Oklahoma City.
"No other city in America has was we have here,” he said.
It is a hidden gem some say right in the middle of town.
"You should do it,” said 9-year-old Joseph Laborde. "It's not scary?" "If you know how to swim."
The festival runs through Memorial Day. Learn more.
