Don't know if any of the Thunder players are watching right now. Quite possibly and odds are some of their family members are tuned in.
I want you to hear me for a minute.
Like a lot of Thunder fans, the disappointment of losing this last playoff series was almost impossible for me to put into words, and I couldn't figure out why, but then it dawned on me.
Speaking for myself to the players, I wasn't disappointed IN you or BY you, I was disappointed FOR you.
You see, a trophy can't make me appreciate you more than I already do.
KD, Russ, Serge, and Nick... the so-called Thunder founding fathers, you have meant more to this city than we ever dreamed.
You have been global ambassadors, always spreading a positive message about your professional home.
You've transformed the image and consequently the future of Oklahoma City.
You've become favorite sons and to see you come so close to achieving your ultimate goal, this time it was just dreadful watching it come apart.
I know cynics will try to discount what I've said tonight by arguing it's just a basketball team, but the Thunder are much more than that to Oklahoma City.
And we'll cheer even louder next year to get you that title you desire and deserve, our way of saying thank you.
I'm Kelly Ogle and that's My 2 Cents.
