One inmate was found dead Tuesday afternoon in the Oklahoma County jail, authorities said.
Bruno Bermea, 53, was found unresponsive in an Oklahoma County jail cell after lunch, Oklahoma County sheriff's office spokesman Mark Opgrande said.
About noon, Bermea was last seen eating lunch in a cell with another inmate. About 45 minutes later, a jailer picking up lunch trays found Bermea unresponsive.
Jailers began CPR until Oklahoma City police and paramedics arrived on the scene. All attempts to revive Bermea were unsuccessful, Opgrande said.
Bermea's cause of death will be determined by the state medical examiner's office. The Oklahoma County sheriff's office will conduct an investigation into the death, and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the Oklahoma County district attorney's office and the Oklahoma jail inspectors have been notified of the death.
Bermea was booked June 5 into the Oklahoma County jail on an Oklahoma County warrant for failure to appear on a possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction charge.
