I said the DA in Cincinnati would not charge the mom who's little boy fell into the zoo gorilla enclosure, and he didn't.
No matter how hard you try, sometimes your kids can get away from you.
Here's what you had to say about whether she should have been charged:
Carrie first, "Yes, because she could have easily had the child under control via a stroller or one of those kid leashes..."
But Debi argues, "No. If you have or have had kids, you are smart enough to know there will be accidents. If not, don't have any kids."
You guys were really split on this.
From Deborah in Mustang, "Parents are charged with neglect when children run into streets, escape from homes to wander, and so forth. how is this any different?"
TJ says, "If anything, the zoo should be held accountable and liable for having an exhibit that was not safe."
David in Blanchard says, "Uh---yeah she should have keep better watch over her kid, not sure what she was doing that drew 100% of her attention away from her kid."
Finally, Alan in Edmond says this was clearly NOT parental neglect, "Most of us parents will admit that kids can get away from us with just a moment's inattention. Most of the time, we catch it before anything bad happens"
I'm Kelly Ogle and that's YOUR 2 Cents.
