A teenager is dead and a 21-year-old woman is in the hospital after police say an Enid man opened fire on them Saturday evening.
When they got there, 17-year-old Daultn Dickerson had been shot and was dying in the front yard.
His friend, 21-year-old Alyssa Cull had been shot in the chest. She remains in the hospital.
A third teen was grazed by gunfire.
Christopher Reynaud, 23, was later charged with murder and shooting with intent to kill. He is accused of opening fire on the three in the home.
Neighbors say that's not the kind of thing that happens in this quiet neighborhood.
"Yeah. I've been here four years and haven't experienced any crime whatsoever," said Jeremy Chase, who lives in the other side of the duplex.
Dickerson and his two friends had reportedly come to the home to help another friend who they believed was being abused by Reynaud.
Police said Chief Brian O'Rourke's daughter, Jackie, was a witness to the shooting but they will not confirm whether she was the one in a relationship with Reynaud.
Neighbors said they'd seen the two together, along with others partying at the home.
Neighbors said Reynaud seemed like a nice enough guy.
"He was friendly. You know. A little odd. But you would never expect anything like that," Chase said. "It’s a horrible thing man. Young kid. Doesn't even know what's going on in the world, you know? And some jerk just took ... took his life.”
