Friday, News 9 has an exclusive video from a man living in downtown Dallas whose phone captured the moments gunfire erupted.
While there is shock about what happened in downtown Dallas, one police officer securing the perimeter Friday, told News 9’s Kelly Ogle it was just a matter of time.
Nearby resident Adrian Aguila pulled out his cell phone when he heard the first shot because, he knew it was different.
"I could definitely tell it was a high powered rifle. The shots and the power that resonated between the buildings and the echoing that's what gave it away to me,” said Aguila.
But he didn't know how bad it was until he got back to his apartment.
"I mean I was sad, I was devastated. I mean loss of life,” expressed Aguila.
And Adrian had this to say about the way Dallas officers responded to the gunfire.
"Bravery for sure, but I’ve always known they were brave. It didn't change it in a negative way for sure. Kudos to those guys they have hard job,” he said.
Adrian says he'll never look at a Dallas Police Officer or Lamar Street the same way again.
