The Oklahoma City Thunder has partnered with the Kansas City Royals to host Thunder Night at Kauffman Stadium on Saturday, July 23. The theme night will incorporate the Thunder experience into a night of big-league action, as the Royals host the Texas Rangers at 6:15 p.m.

Thunder forward and former University of Kansas basketball star Nick Collison is scheduled to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Rumble the Bison, the Thunder Girls, Thunder Drummers and Storm Chasers will also take part in the theme night, connecting with fans throughout the ballpark and providing in-game entertainment. The OG&E ThunderBolt, the team’s traveling interactive experience, will be set up to allow fans to engage with the Thunder through measure-ups, a photo booth, trivia and more.

“We are extremely excited to partner with the Kansas City Royals and incorporate the Thunder experience into their game,” said Brian Byrnes, senior vice president of Sales and Marketing for the Thunder. “This is a great opportunity for us to engage with the Kansas City community and recognize our regional fans who are so passionate and excited about Thunder Basketball.”

"The Royals look forward to hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder at Kauffman Stadium," said Mike Bucek, Royals vice president of Marketing and Promotions. "Since both franchises have a strong appeal across the region, partnering with them is a natural fit and offers our fans an opportunity to experience the Thunder’s game entertainment."

Tickets for Thunder Night are priced at $25 and $55 and can be purchased at royals.com/thunder. Fans who purchase a theme ticket for the Royals game will receive an exclusive Royals baseball cap that includes the Thunder logo and colors. Gates to the ballpark open at 4:45 p.m.

During the NBA season, Thunder game broadcasts are aired on FOX Sports regional channels, including on FOX Sports Kansas City.
