News 9 Begins Educate Oklahoma Initiative

It's a tumultuous time for Oklahoma schools. Things like drastic budget cuts, teacher shortages and controversy over testing mandates have created rifts among teachers, administrators, parents and legislators. 

That is why News 9 is kicking off a statewide initiative called Educate Oklahoma.

In a two-hour special, News 9 offered an in-depth look at what works well in Oklahoma's education system, what does not and what we can learn from other states, even other countries to improve. The initiative will continue over the weeks and months ahead, News 9 will profile teachers, students, schools and the things they're all doing to make Oklahoma more successful.
