Oklahoma is one of eight states to use gas chambers to euthanize animals and now it will have two less.
Back in September, a proposal was brought before the city's Board of Commissioners to eliminate the city's animal shelter's carbon monoxide euthanasia systems.
At Monday night's board meeting, the city voted to grant the proposal. The initial request states local veterinaries have been contracted to process the new euthanasians.

There is no word yet on when the resolution will be enacted.
