Authorities: Child Nearly Drowns At NE OKC Home

Emergency crews responded to the scene where a child nearly drowned in the tub at a northeast Oklahoma City home Monday afternoon.

According to the fire department, crews responded to the report of a possible drowning at a home in the 10000 block of Timber Oak Drive, near Hefner and Sooner. An 8-year-old child was found in the tub.

Bystanders immediately began performing CPR on the child. Authorities said the child did regain consciousness and breathing resumed, but the child is still being transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
