Surveillance video showed a man going after workers at a local business with a knife.
Now, that man stands accused in that horrible attack in Cushing. Joel Otto Walker made his first appearance before a judge.
Walker was told he would be facing a total of five criminal counts for that attack, but he kept interrupting the judge. He said he was the victim of a smear campaign.
Walker was very belligerent during his video arraignment before the Payne County judge, and was cut off before he could say anymore.
A video released to News 9 last week shows Walker forcing himself into the Beasley Technology Inc. business in Cushing, and slashing at workers with knife while they tried to subdue him and get him out of the building.
"He stabbed me once in the back when I tackled him, and then once when I got down on the ground, he cut me across the chest multiple times," Giacob Beasley said.
Beasley is the president at Beasley Technology and spoke with News 9 last week about their horrifyingly ordeal. He said one of his workers was slashed across the face. Court papers reveal he had to get 15 stitches as a result of walker's violent attack on them.
Court papers state Walker even threatened to kill the officer who arrested him.
Now, he stands accused of one felony count of maiming and two felony counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He also faces two misdemeanor counts of threatening an act of violence for the attack which was all caught on tape from three separate angles.
Walker is also accused of making disturbing anti-Semitic statements, according to court documents.
Now, he is being held on a $250,000 bond.
Walker's next court appearance is set for Friday.
