One Dead In SW Oklahoma City House Fire

One person is dead in a southwest Oklahoma City house fire, firefighters said.

The fire happened shortly after 7:35 p.m. Monday in the 2900 block of S Portland Avenue.

The home is reportedly vacant but homeless people tend to stay in the home, fire officials said.

Oklahoma City fire officials and police are investigating the fatality. 

Firefighters had to force entry due to bars on the windows.
