One person was fatally shot late Sunday in northwest Oklahoma City, police said.
The shooting happened about 11:30 a.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of NW 18 near Classen Boulevard.
Police said three people were involved in an altercation at a nearby apartment complex. The fight moved to the front of the apartment where the three fought over a gun.
During the struggle, police said one person was killed and another was wounded.
The injured person was identified as Michael Maloy, 29, of Oklahoma City. He was taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries to his head and face, police said.
Maloy told police he was approached by two men in the parking lot of the apartment complex. He said they were armed and demanded his car keys and his wallet. When he tried to run away, the two chased him and began pistol whipping him, Maloy told police.
Maloy said he managed to gain control of the gun and fatally shot one of the alleged robbers. The homicide victim has not been identified as of Monday morning.
Police have not found the third person involved in the fatal struggle.
No arrests have been made as of Monday morning, police said.
