Police and school officials are investigating a relationship between a student and teacher who have since filed a marriage license, Davis police said.
Police were notified of a possible inappropriate relationship between 34-year-old teacher and a 16-year-old student on Nov. 29.
On Thursday, officers learned a marriage license had been filed for the couple on Wednesday in Cleveland County. The 16-year-old's father was present when the license was filed, police said.
As of Thursday, the teacher was no longer employed by Davis Public Schools, police said.
The criminal investigation is ongoing.
