Police are investigating a shooting that took place in a parked car in northwest Oklahoma City Saturday afternoon.

Police are still unaware where the suspect is.

The condition of the victim is currently unknown.

In early afternoon, both the victim and suspect were sitting in a white Chevy Impala in the parking lot of Mount Vernon Apartments.

Police say the passenger got out of the car and shot the driver several times before taking off.

“The driver left for a little bit and then came back when EMSA pulled into the parking lot. He was treated by EMSA at the scene and then transported to Presbyterian,” Oklahoma City Police Lt. Ron Hendricks said.

Several neighbors in the apartment complex report witnessing the crime in some way.

One man tells News 9 he made the 9-1-1 call after hearing the gunfire.

“I heard gunfire and I looked out my window, and I saw smoke,” the neighbor said.

Meanwhile, investigators are searching for evidence.
