The man who escaped from a Moore police cruiser Wednesday morning is still on the loose.

Police say they believe Walter Blount could be armed and dangerous.

Police were called to the Hayden's Landing Apartments in Moore just before 2 a.m., after getting a report of people trying to break into vehicles. They arrested Blount along with Bethany Bales and Devin Slawson.

Video from the police cruiser shows Blount, who was handcuffed in the back of the car, swing his hands in front of him, open the window in the plastic partition and squeeze through into the front of the car. He then made a run for it.

About four hours later, Jenna Alexander says she was going to the store and found Blount in the front of her pickup.

“So, I opened the door like this, and he’s sitting right there,” said Alexander. “I said, ‘What are you doing in my truck?’ And he was all disoriented like this and said, ‘Please don’t call the cops.’”

Alexander said Blount damaged the lock cylinder in her vehicle, stole several items and was likely passed out when she found him.

“I told him, ‘I can tell that you’re on meth and I’ll tell you buddy that the best thing you can do is just put that crap down.’ And he said, ‘I’m trying.’ And took off.”

Alexander called police, and as they were taking her information, they got another call.

“From a lady that says there’s someone trying to break into her vehicle, officers responded to that location and observed him driving off in the lady’s 1998 Dodge Ram extended cab pickup,” said Lt. Kyle Dudley with Moore Police Department

That was a white Dodge Ram pickup with Oklahoma license plate DUV-760. Police briefly chased the truck but called it off because of the weather. That was the last time they saw Blount.

Moore Police asks if you see Blount or that White Dodge Ram, to call your local authorities.
