Midwest City police are investigating a deadly shooting.
Police were called about 9:40 p.m. Monday to the 1200 block of Lauren Lane, near Northeast 12th and Douglas.
When officers arrived, they found DeMario Brown, 31, dead at the scene in his front yard.
A neighbor called 911, and witnesses helped police put some of the pieces together.
“Apparently, there was an unknown vehicle make and model that was in the cul-de-sac of this residential street,” said Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes. “They (neighbors) heard shots fired and the vehicle sped out quickly northbound, toward Northeast 12th Street, and turned back east towards North Douglas Boulevard.
Police do not believe the shooting was at random. The home and possibly the victim were targets.
“We did recover some evidence, shell casings at the scene,” said Clabes. “We canvassed the neighborhood. We looked for anything that is important to our investigation. Any eyewitnesses, cameras that may be attached to any of the residences.”
Police encourage anyone nearby with security cameras to review footage for any suspicious activity.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call 405-739-1324.
