Infant Crisis Services is taking its mission to diaper and feed Oklahoma babies on the road. The BabyMobile, a mobile formula, food and diaper pantry provides assistance to children under the age of four. It is designed to eliminate transportation barriers that prevent many families from receiving its services.
Brenda needed help with diapers and food for her two-year-old daughter, Eva.
“Having the BabyMobile parked here has helped me save money to put gas in the car since we didn’t have to drive to the offices on Lincoln Boulevard,” Brenda said.
The BabyMobile provides a week’s supply of diapers, formula, a pack of baby or toddler food, bottles and a pack of wipes. Services are provided a maximum of five times per child before they turn four.
Infant Crisis Services say generous donations have allowed them to extend their reach of services to surrounding areas.
Babies and toddlers like Eva will not have to miss a meal or a diaper change because her parents have fallen on hard times. Infant Crisis Services measures its success baby-by-baby and toddler-by-toddler. Each baby the organization serves means there is one less baby who will go to bed hungry or in a soiled diaper.
“The food in the toddler packs helps a great deal,” Brenda said. “I honestly don’t know what we would have done without Infant Crisis Services.”
The BabyMobile travels to partner agencies in the Oklahoma City metro area including Canadian, Cleveland, Lincoln, Logan, Seminole, Payne and Pottawatomie counties.
