This weekend, while many of us were spending time with our families or transitioning from Thanksgiving to Christmas-mode, the border crossing at Tijuana boiled over. And what played out there looked more like something you'd see along the Gaza Strip in the Middle East rather than South of San Diego.
Some of the members of the so-called asylum-seeking immigrants from Central America, decided not to wait to work their way through our immigration system and tried to storm the border fence.
The San Diego Border Patrol Chief says as they were trying to push the fencing down, they threw rocks and bottles at our Border Patrol agents trying to get them to back off.
The agents responded with pepper spray and tear gas to force them to back away from the border.
Border Patrol officials say some of the migrants are using women and children as human shields to try to get through the border barriers
What kind of a message would letting them into the United States send back to tens of thousands more in Central America?
It would open the flood gates.
This is exactly why we should have put the heat on Mexico to stop them before they even got close to our border.
I'm Kelly Ogle and that's My 2 Cents.
