It's critical that city leaders come up with the right combination of MAPS 4 projects that will capture the voters’ imagination, because continuing the "temporary one-cent sales tax" is a whole lot easier than restarting it if the voters reject the plan.
Here's what you had to say, Kevin from Bridge Creek first, "It's not temporary. It was even said choose something or a tax will be given in its place."
Kevin, the specific projects will be laid out, and if it fails, the penny-sales tax goes away.
From Patrice, "I love what MAPS has done for our city. I still see areas that need help so, I'm hopeful our voters continue to support MAPS."
But George says, "They cannot build anything for normal people to use, they have to build it for the wealthy, and/or well to do to use, but they want to put the cost on the back of the workingman!"
Diana suggests, "Refurbish the closed schools to make affordable housing!"
And Carolyn thinks, "It is time for the "MAPS Projects" to consider building community storm shelters."
Cinda says, "Build another senior wellness center."
Finally, Charlene writes, "Not many people use the downtown, because it's too much for the normal person!"
Charlene, about 25 years ago, you could have shot off a cannon downtown Friday at 5 p.m. and nobody would have heard it. Now, it's packed on the weekends with normal looking people.
I'm Kelly Ogle and that's My 2 Cents.
