Fruity Crispy Treats

  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 bag (10.5 ounces) mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup of each freeze-dried strawberries, blueberries and raspberries
  • 5 cups rice krispy cereal
  1. Line a 9"x9" baking dish with foil. Then grease the foil and set the pan aside.?
  2. In a large pot, set over medium heat, melt the butter, stirring constantly. Continue cooking for a few minutes after the butter has melted, allowing it to brown. The whole process should take about 5-7 minutes.?
  3. Once the butter has finished browning, remove the pan from the heat and add in the marshmallows and salt. Mix until the marshmallows have completely melted. The heat from the butter should be enough to melt them, but if you're having any issues, just pop the pan on a low heat burner for a minute or two, while you continue to stir.?
  4. Once the marshmallows have melted, quickly mix in the fruit and cereal and continue stirring until everything is well combined and the cereal and fruit is coated with marshmallow.?
  5. Pour the mixture into the lined baking sheet and use a spatula to really press the mixture it firmly into place.?
  6. Allow the pan to sit at room temperature for at least 2 hours, or until everything has set. Then, slice into squares and serve. Store additional rice krispy treats covered, at room temperature (I kept mine in a covered cake stand).
