Quick Shrimp & Grits

  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 red pepper, chopped
  • 3 slices bacon chopped
  • 2 andouille sausage, sliced thin
  • 20-30 shrimp, de-veined and peeled
  • 3 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup half and half
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 1/2 cup broth
  • Splash Worcestershire sauce
  1. Sauté the bacon and sausage until browned then add in the onion, peppers and garlic and sauté till tender.
  2. Sprinkle the mixture with flour and stir cooking the flowers for for five minutes or until it browns and then add in the wine, the broth and water.
  3. Continue stirring until the sauce thickens and then add in the shrimp and a splash of Worchester sauce.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
