New Information Surrounding Chickasha Officer-Involved Shooting
CHICKASHA, Oklahoma - We're getting eyewitness accounts of a fatal officer-involved shooting Wednesday night in Chickasha. The OSBI said 26-year-old Andrew Jackson was shot and killed by a Chickasha Police Officer.
The OSBI said police responded, after a woman called 911, after she found Jackson and another man burglarizing her home.
Police sources said Jackson's accomplice gave up, but investigators said Jackson tried to run away. Police chased him into a house on the 1200 block of Florida, where investigators said Jackson pulled a knife, was shot and killed.
Shane McConnell lives two houses from the house where Jackson ran into and was shot.
“This used to be a wonderful neighborhood. Last year, it really went downhill.”
“Is it drugs or what?” News 9's Steve Shaw asked.
“Yeah a little bit of everything around here.” McConnell said.
Another neighbor said Jackson and his alleged accomplice burglarized his car Tuesday night.
