In April, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned doctors about two growing outbreaks of deadly Marburg virus in Africa. World Health Organization officials confirmed in February an outbreak in Equatorial Guinea of the highly infectious disease, which is in the same family as the virus that causes Ebola.

Esther "Essie" Nakajjigo was decapitated when a metal gate at the park sliced through the passenger door of a car driven by her new husband.
